Come try out to become a member of one of Providence College’s fine a cappella vocal groups! Auditions will be held Wednesday, September 24 at 7:00 pm on the second floor of the Smith Center. Please prepare a segment from a song of your choice (to be sung, as one might expect, a cappella) which will showcase your vocal ability*. Arrive at the Smith Center at 7 pm sharp with an incorrigibly fun attitude and a certain measure of talent, and you could well become of member of one of these great groups:

ANACLASTIC: The ladies of this all-female group often dress in pastel tones, a wonderful visual metaphor for their sweet, soothing sound. Anaclastic recently released their second studio album, and recent hits include a beautiful rendition of Frou Frou’s "Let Go". This year promises to be a great one under the musical direction of Kristen Glover ’10.

STRICTLY SPEAKING: This group is the only one to include both male and female members, and their commitment to a closely-knit and fun-loving group is exceeded only by their devotion to making wonderful music together. Previous hits include Justin Timberlake’s "Lovestoned", and notable alumni of the group include ResLife mogul Nedzer Erilus.

SPECIAL GUEST: Founded in 1997, "PC’s Only All-Male A Cappella Group" is the oldest a cappella ensemble on campus. Special Guest is set to release its sixth album later this fall, with many more sure to follow. These gentlemen are often seen performing the National Anthem before Friars basketball games at the Dunk, and frequently appear at various events both on and off campus. This fall, Al Callahan ’09 leads the group into its 12th year of brotherhood through great music.

All three groups are actively seeking a significant number of new members. Who knows? You could become PC’s next a cappella superstar!

*N.B.: "Vocal ability" should not be construed to mean only "singing ability."
We also need people who can do vocal percussion (beat-boxing). Thus, relatively poor singers with other talents are encouraged to audition anyway.
Come on down!
