NEIGHBORHOOD SHUTTLE SERVICE
PC's Neighborhood Shuttle provides FREE transportation to PC students from 6pm to 1am, Sunday-Thursday. On Friday and Saturday nights, the shuttle runs from 6pm to 2:30am. From 6-7pm the shuttle travels to Shaws (Sunday-Thursday) and Wal-Mart (Friday-Saturday). It then spends the rest of the evening looping through campus and off-campus housing areas. The shuttle departs from the rear of Raymond Hall at the top of the hour and on the half hour. It completes the route approximately every 20 minutes. Please don't walk unaccompanied at night, ride the shuttle! Please note: We request that students pick up the shuttle along its route. For more info, call x2940.

THE EAST SIDE SHUTTLE
Looking to get off campus and explore the great city you live in?? Ever wonder what else there is to do downtown?? Hop on the East Side Shuttle and discover Providence this weekend! The Shuttle will make stops on Thayer St., Wickenden St., North and South Main St., and Federal Hill. Enjoy the many shops, restaurants and attractions Providence has to offer! The Shuttle will run on Friday and Saturday Nights. It will depart from the rear of Raymond Hall at the top of each hour between 6:00 and 11:00pm. Making it back to campus on the shuttle is the student's responsibility - please make plans accordingly.

Wellness Connections are FREE short clinics on health topics that affect students most. It's not too late to protect yourself from the flu and colds. Flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. The single best way to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated. There will be a discussion, as well as a question and answer portion on who needs to be vaccinated and how to protect yourself from colds. Flu shot opportunities will also be announced. Alcohol Awareness Week: Speaker Jackie Sabarito, 6-9pm, '64 Hall
Jackie Sabarito is a survivor of a tragic drunk-driving accident. She will speak about how her life was irrecoverably changed due to drinking and driving. Students will understand a very visual and disturbing account of the effects of drinking and driving and have the opportunity to engage the speaker. A candlelight vigil will allow students to solemnly recognize the painful, life-altering effects of alcohol abuse. More importantly, students will have the opportunity to share their personal experiences with alcohol during an open-mic finale. Sponsored by Residence Life.

American Heart Association Needs Volunteers
This Saturday night the American Heart Association will be at Waterfire in Providence. They are looking to raise awareness around childhood obesity and the FIT Kids Act (www.fitkidsact.org). The event should be a fun-filled evening of entertainment and education. Note that the date was changed to Oct. 4th because of the rain last Saturday. The organization was hoping to have students walking the crowd asking participants to sign a sneaker petition in support of the FIT Kids Act and against the childhood obesity epidemic. The Autism Project of RI
The Autism Project of RI is looking for volunteers for their upcoming golf tournament on Friday, October 24th at Carnegie Abbey in Portsmouth, RI. Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis Monday-Friday from 3-6pm. Volunteers would need to commit to one day a week for three hours for at least the semester, if not the entire school year. Volunteers would facilitate and assist with activities for youth in the Chad Brown area.

Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation RI Rhode Island
The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation was established in 2004 in memory of our Gloria Gemma and in honor of her courageous fight against breast cancer. Their mission is to raise breast cancer awareness, increase breast health education, and generate funding for critical breast health programs that are in desperate need of being brought to fruition. Their promise is that 100% of the net proceeds will remain right here in our local community. The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation needs volunteers for fundraising events, in many capacities. The foundation also needs volunteers to continue to operate at the lowest cost possible so that more funding can go towards finding a cure for breast cancer. Below is the website for the foundation.
