The Providence College Recycling Program has received several inquiries regarding how to recycle cardboard boxes properly.

Providence College accepts all corrugated cardboard boxes for recycling. The College has two cardboard compactors on campus; one at the Peterson loading dock, and one at the Physical Plant.

Please follow these procedures for recycling your cardboard boxes:

Students

Break down and flatten any boxes you wish to recycle. Place them in the trash room on your floor, near a recycling tote, but not in the trash barrels. The cleaning company will take the cardboard separately for recycling.

Faculty and Staff

Break down and flatten any boxes you wish to get rid of, and place next to your blue paper recycling bin. The cleaning company will take the cardboard separately for recycling.

We hope this helps to clear up any confusion. If you have any other questions about recycling on campus, please call the Recycling Hotline at x1881, or send an email to recycle@providence.edu.
