Purse Snatching

The Providence College Community should be aware of a PURSE SNATCHING reported to Providence Police and the Office of Safety and Security on October 14, 2008.

A Providence College student told Providence Police and the College's Office of Safety and Security that at approximately 12:45 am the victim had her purse and two bracelets stolen from her, while walking on Douglas Ave., Providence, in front of Universal Ambulance Company. The assailant was described as: young, thinly built African American male, wearing jeans and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The assailant and an accomplice then ran off toward Eaton Street.

The Providence Police Department is conducting the investigation with assistance from the College's Office of Safety and Security. Anyone having information is requested to contact the Office of Safety and Security at 865-2391 or the Providence Police Detectives at 272-3121. All information will be kept confidential.
