The Providence College Community should be aware of a LARCENY reported to Providence Police and the Office of Safety and Security on October 15, 2008.

A Providence College student told Providence Police and the College's Office of Safety and Security that at approximately 8:08 P.M. the victim had his IPod stolen from him, while walking near the front of Phillips Memorial Library. The assailant was described as: about 16 years old, heavy set (200lbs) Hispanic male, wearing checkered shorts and a multi colored polo shirt with stripes. The assailant spoke with the student while riding his bicycle along the walkway from Slavin to the library. He then grabbed the IPod and took off toward the front of Alumni Hall. Officers are familiar with the suspect and he has been seen on campus in the past. Positive identification and arrest is pending.

The Providence Police Department is conducting the investigation with assistance from the College's Office of Safety and Security.
