New Late Night Space and Programs:
Dear Students:
I am excited to announce to you the launch of new late night space and programming for PC students. Responding to the feedback and requests of students and in pursuit of our collective goal to enhance student life and culture at PC, Student Affairs is pleased to present the following new offerings:
1. NEW! Slavin Center Late Night Hours
Beginning Monday, October 27, 2008, the lower level of Slavin Center will be open until 2am Monday through Thursday and until 3am on Friday and Saturday to provide late night space for students to meet and hang out on campus. Please note: after 11pm, students must enter the building through the lower level entrance near McPhail’s/WDOM.
2. ALL NEW Thursday Nights at McPhail’s
McPhail’s will offer a series of new Thursday programs between 9pm-1am beginning October 30th. Video game tournaments, movies, contests/giveaways and lots of free food and more are planned. These new offerings are sponsored by the SAIL Office and the Dean of Student’s Office. A full schedule of events for the remainder of the term will be posted and distributed very soon. Please note: McPhail’s will no longer be serving alcohol between 8pm-1am on Thursdays effective 10/30/08.
3. NEW on Fridays! Your Social: Coffeehouse and Lounge
The Office of Residence Life has already begun hosting this new late night coffeehouse and lounge every Friday in Aquinas Lounge from 10pm-2am. Your Social includes: free coffee and snacks, trivia contests at midnight for prizes, games, crafts and music.
4. Late Night Saturday Events
Even more programs are being added to fill late night hours (10pm-2am) beginning November 1 including showings of recently released movies, dances and more. A full schedule of events for the remainder of the term will be posted and distributed very soon.
As always, we are looking for student input and feedback in our ongoing efforts to make your PC experience meaningful and enjoyable and to make Providence College a leader in the student life experience. Feel free to contact my office, the Office of Residence Life and/or the SAIL office with ideas and suggestions. Look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Chris Fortunato
Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/
Dean of Students
