E. C Osondu, Assistant Professor of English at Providence College, winner of the Caine Prize, will read excerpts from his prize winning story Waiting, whose characters are child survivors of war. His collection of short stories, Voice of America, will be published in Fall of 2010 by Harper Collins in the U.S. and by Granta Books in the U.K. Dr. Myriam Denov, Associate Professor of Social Work, McGill University, will speak to us about her research and teaching interests with an emphasis on war and political violence, children and armed conflict, and gender based violence. Her forthcoming book, Child Soldiers of Sierra Leon and Sri Lanka, will be published in October, 2009 by Cambridge University Press.
