Adopt-A-Family
Helping children in need this Christmas

Adopt-a-Family is a non-profit organization that provides Christmas gifts for families who are unable to afford a Christmas on their own. This year, as in years past, Adopt-a-Family is working with Family Resources, an agency that identifies and cares for the needs of the poor and homeless in our Rhode Island community.

Last year, Adopt-a-Family made Christmas a reality for just under 1,100 families, and here at PC we played Santa to 12 of those families and over 35 children. We were able to grant the Christmas wishes of these children and we hope to be able to do the same this year. For 2009, the Office of Residence Life has adopted 42 children in 12 families through the Adopt-a-Family program. This is six more children than we have ever adopted before and we hope that you will support us in our efforts to provide a Christmas for each and every one.

We have all been impacted by the changes in the economy in different ways. This year there are more families in need and fewer families with the resources to provide aid. If you are interested in making a donation to one of our adopted families this year, please contact your Resident Assistant, or contact Tiffany Gaffney in the Office of Residence Life at 865-2191 no later than Tuesday, December 1.

For more information about the Adopt-a-Family organization or to adopt a family for this holiday season, contact Adopt-a-Family at (401) 766-2291.
